Adding / Removing people to your project

This article discusses how to add and remove people to your projects

Adding people to projects:

You can add people to a project through the:

  • Project settings

  • Timecode setup

  • Resourcing

  • Timesheets (if applicable)

 

Project Settings:

The Account Manager and Project Manager are assigned when you configure a project. These users will always be associated with your project. They can be found and changed under your Project Settings:

When beginning a project, you’ll likely want to add people through the People tab in your project settings. This is typically considered your ‘master list’ of anyone associated with your project. You can search for an individual by their name or role to add them to the project.

Timecodes:

You can assign people to a timecode and set them expected hours (learn more). When an individual is added to a timecode, they are immediately added to your project and included in your People tab.

To add a person to a timecode, you will want to go to the Timecodes tab and click on the + icon next to the relevant timecode. You will then get the option to select a role or person to add to your project.

Once you’ve completed adding all of your people to a project, they will then appear in the People tab.

Resourcing:

If you add a person to your project through the resourcing screen, they will be added to your project.

The resourcing screen is powerful as it allows you to filter by: Team, Organisation, Position, Rank and any Custom Fields that you have configured. This is a great tool if you are looking for someone with a particular skill-set, as shown in the example below:

Timesheets:

Note: this option will only appear for those who have not restricted who can use timecodes. 

Based on how you have configured your environment, you may have allowed your team to find any timecode and log time against it. If this is the case, they will be added to your project and allocated to that specific timecode. They will also be added to your people tab.

 

Removing people from projects:

When a person needs to be removed from a project, you will need to go to the people tab to find your user and remove them by selecting the three dots next to their name:

You will not be able to remove a user from your project if:

  • Their time has been submitted on an approved timesheet

  • Their time has been included in an invoice
