Recommended setup for the best Projectworks experience
Projectworks is a modern web application designed primarily for use on a desktop or laptop. While some everyday tasks work well on mobile, a larger screen, an up-to-date browser, and a stable internet connection will give you the best experience across all areas of Projectworks.

Using Projectworks on desktop or laptop
For the best overall experience, we recommend using Projectworks on a desktop or laptop.
Many areas of Projectworks contain detailed tables, financial information, timelines, reports, and resourcing views. These features benefit from the additional screen space and precision available with a keyboard and mouse or trackpad.
A browser window of at least 1280 px wide is recommended. Projectworks is optimised around a viewport of approximately 1540 × 960 px, while also scaling to larger desktop displays.
If Projectworks feels cramped or you need to scroll more than expected, try maximising your browser window.
Keep your browser up to date
Projectworks supports current versions of the major modern browsers:
-
Google Chrome: latest 2 versions
-
Microsoft Edge: latest 2 versions
-
Mozilla Firefox: latest 2 versions
-
Apple Safari: latest 2 major versions
-
Chrome for Android: latest 2 versions
-
iOS: latest 2 major versions
Browser support moves forward as new browser versions are released, so we recommend keeping automatic browser updates enabled.
Older or unsupported browsers may still be able to open Projectworks, but some features may not display or behave as expected.
Using Projectworks on mobile
Projectworks can be accessed from your phone's web browser, but it is not currently designed as a fully mobile-first application.
Mobile works best for quick, on-the-go tasks such as:
- Entering your timesheet
- Submitting an expense claim
- Signing in and completing common account or security steps
You can also save Projectworks to your phone's home screen for faster access. See Saving Projectworks to the home screen on your phone in the Help Centre.
For more complex workflows - including resourcing, project scheduling, budgets, financial views, reporting, and administration - we recommend switching to a desktop or laptop.
Some other Projectworks pages can still be opened on a phone, but their functionality or layout may be limited on smaller screens.
Use a stable internet connection
Projectworks is cloud-based and needs an active internet connection.
For a responsive experience, we recommend a connection with:
- 3 Mbps or greater download speed
- Network latency of 150 ms or lower
- A stable Wi-Fi, wired, or mobile data connection
You do not normally need a high-speed connection to use Projectworks. Connection stability and latency are often more important than peak download speed.
Faster connections may improve the experience when uploading files, importing data, or loading data-heavy reports.
If Projectworks isn't displaying as expected
If something doesn't look or behave correctly, try the following:
- Make sure you're using a supported, up-to-date browser.
- Maximise your browser window or try Projectworks on a larger screen.
- Refresh the page.
- Check that your internet connection is stable.
- Try another supported browser to determine whether the issue is browser-specific.
- If you're using a phone or tablet, try the same workflow on a desktop or laptop.
