Timesheet settings
Adding time entries in Projectworks is simple. Here’s how you can set up your timesheet settings to suit you.
To access your Timesheet settings:
-
Click on your initials in the top right hand corner;
-
Select “Settings”; and
-
In the settings tab, select “Timesheet”.

Time Auto Formatting
Time auto formatting allows you to enter time in hours or minutes, depending on how you manage entering time in your timesheet. By default, when a person is added as a user to Projectworks, this Timesheet Setting will be set to “Enter time in hours”.
If you are integrated with Jira or DevOps, you can also set your Jira or DevOps Time Auto Formatting.
When you add a comment against a time entry, by default, when you press the enter key the comment will be saved. If you regularly enter lengthy comments, you may want to update the Comment Line Breaks Timesheet Setting to “Press enter key for new line in comment field”, so that the comment field does not automatically save and close when you press the enter key.

Optional Comments (week view)
If comments are mandatory for a timecode, the comment field will be displayed when you click in the time entry cell (when viewing your timesheet in week mode). If comments are optional for the timecode, by default the comment field will be hidden when you enter the time entry cell.
If you regularly enter comments on your time entries, you may want to update the Timesheet Setting optional comments to “Show optional comment field when entering time”.

Copy from previous warning
If there are time entries in a timesheet that can be overridden, and you select “Copy previous day” or “Copy previous week”, the “Copy from previous warning” pop-up is displayed. You can disable this pop-up by ticking:
-
“Don’t show this message again”; and
-
selecting “Override time entries”.

If you disable this pop-up, the next time you select “Copy previous day” or “Copy previous week” and there are time entries in the timesheet that can be overridden, the pop-up will not be displayed and the time entries will be overridden.
To re-enable the pop-up, update the “Copy from previous warning” Timesheet Setting to Show, and click “Save”.

Outlook Settings
If Outlook Calendar has been enabled for your organisation, you can connect your Outlook calendar to Projectworks, and use these calendar events to populate your time entries.
You can connect to Outlook calendar from your own timesheet settings. If you have access to other people’s timesheet settings, you can only see if they are connected (or not connected) to Outlook calendar.
If you are connected to Outlook calendar, nobody else can see your Outlook calendar events in your timesheets.
There are a number of warnings that will be displayed when you initially add or “undo” Outlook events to or from your time entries:
-
A warning reminding you that your time entry comment will be automatically populated with the Outlook event title when you save a calendar event;

-
A warning advising you that if you “undo” a calendar event from a time entry, and the event duration is the same or greater than the time entry, then the time entry will be removed;
-
A warning advising you that if you “undo” a calendar event from a time entry, and the event duration is less than the time entry, then the event duration will be removed, but the comment will remain unedited.
You can disable these pop-ups by ticking:
-
“Don’t show this message again”; and
-
Selecting “Save Calendar Event” or “Undo Calendar Event”.
